Question: I have a 2023 Heritage Edition that will (hopefully) be delivered in April and am wanting to vinyl wrap the side mirror caps in Oxford White to match the roof and other white accents on the car. My local vinyl shop said that it would not be possible to wrap the side mirror caps unless they were painted. I assume that their concern is that wrapping black, textured plastic may not be possible. Has anyone done this and have you had any issues with the vinyl not sticking to these surfaces? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I've heard that wrapping plastic parts that are not painted can have issues as well - Has to do with the plastics releasing gases or something along those lines. I know MIC tops have been done in the past, and I'm sure it can be done - But not sure how long they will ultimately last vs. a painted surface. 🤷‍♂️

i put smooth caps from the OBX on my Badlands(ordered from the dealer) and had a local wrap shop wrap them for me. Cost me $60 to wrap them. Got quoted $200 to paint them. They've been holding up great even thru our MN winter :) If they peel or anything i'll have them painted but the wrap takes more abuse

I had a black diamond grill wrapped , and that grill is coarse. I only had it a few months but it held up fine during that time. However since there is the option for the smooth mirror caps, I would 100% go that route
