Does anyone have this rear cargo safe? Do you like it? I have the rear cargo drawer, but thinking of getting this instead. The drawer takes up a lot of room and I travel a lot and need the room for luggage sometimes.

I thought about this one, but to date the console lock box I made has been all I needed. I would also like to hear what others think.

I have been looking at also.

I have been wondering if the deck would close if the key lock was replaced with the combination lock the manufacturer makes.

Considered adding security to both console and rear cargo space myself. Even looked into upgrading the alarm system. Ultimately decided against all three. To me, it seems more of a “feel good” action than one that provides meaningful protection. Easy peezy for even a moderately determined thief. And I will say there is never money or a firearm in the car unless I’m in the car.

In addition, if you add a frig at some point, access to the rear cubby becomes problematic. I carry seldom used items there including spare tie rod, etc. See pic below.

No wrong answer, just what works best for you.

I'll going to do something with the space on the rear door, maybe velcro and a lock box behind it.

I have a console safe, never installed it (for sale if someone is interested in it).

What shelf do you have in the picture?

It would be nice to get dimensions. You’d think Ford would include those in the specs

I put one in and keep my 9 (clip out) in it but there is not a lot of room. Small purse or lite jacket.

Thanks all! Appreciate the feedback. I think I’d also like to do a console safe. Any brand recommendations?

I was considering one and then realized the console locks! Figure that’s good enough.

Spent 30 years in the locksmith industry. Locks keep honest people honest. Dishonest people? Locks are just an attempt to slow them down and make something else an easier mark.

That said, I have my reasons for putting a strong box in a lockable console… 😉
