looks awesome, how do you like those maxxis tires? I am wondering how they compare to say bfg ko2 or toyo at3.Non SAS, stock fenders. 285/70/17 on Sasquatch wheels. No other mods.

I went with the 117T.
I have about 1500 miles on them so far and would absolutely buy another set. They drive nice, good in the dry or wet, not a lot of pebble sling from them either. I haven’t been off road, but I would expect them to do well in the dirt. I’m still seeing a consistent 20+mpg as well (2.3 Auto).
I’ve had a few sets of Cooper At3s, and a set of toyo ATs and I would put the Maxxis on the top of the list. Of course that may change in 30k miles based on wear, and I have yet to drive in the snow- but so far these have been the best bang for the buck tire I’ve had.

Thanks for the reply.. I am considering these for my black diamond steelies once it comes in.
I noticed a huge difference in weight between the 2 which is why I asked. The E load rated LT ones are nearly 60lbs! I would like to go for the lighter 117T ones like you did.

Looking at doing this same thing so glad to see others have already done it. I’m a newbie when it comes to wheels/tires and in general with mods, so a couple questions I have are:
1) does mounting the 285 to a slightly wider wheel affect safety or handling at all?
2) does it make the tire wider at all since it is being mounted to a wider tire?
3) anybody able to post a picture of the spare tire showing the gap with the rubber stopper?
Any other general feedback on the topic is greatly appreciated too!
