APIM update question

I don't want to pay that hefty price either... So I did a little research. I was able to track down a used APIM on EBay for about $400 from a salvaged 21' Bronco. I verified via google the VIN to make sure it was a 12" screen.

Now I can buy that CARABC kit and with a little help of FORScan too just incase to get it all working.

From my understanding, if the APIM is not firmware updated prior to going into the different car it will eventually be unusable with the next firmware update.

They now offer this kit on their site. It allows you to upgrade to a 12" screen and retain your SYNC4 settings and original APIM.

Nice, I knew the aftermarket would eventually come to the rescue. I hate how we have to reset the radio every few drives because the android auto connection will mess up...
