Any news on post machine? Our neighboring machine shop is working on that project for us now. I might hear news by the end of the week. They are also sending their programmer over to look at our setup. If they have a machine that's available, they offered to help us get 'caught up' on our MAGNUM backlog.
Hi Jax. We checked in with Chris earlier today about the post machine and he's getting back to us this afternoon. He'll also be running MAGNUMs for us to help cut the lead time down.Any news on post machine?
I'm hoping to get mine on this weekend. I'm running the Grabber AT/X down a mile long gravel road and the big reason for adding the steps was to hopefully cut down on flung rocks. I'll let you know how they work. These are my top choice. Does anyone know how well they do at keeping road rocks from tearing up the paint on the sides?

I did, this morning. He's close. Just reached out for a little more info.Curtis, did you hear back from Chris?

What kind of timeframe to complete are they telling you? Weeks or months?Update 9/14
Post machining is a GO! We'll get parts over to the other shop for the post machine op, ASAP.
To explain more what post machining entails, aside from the look, the CNC machine needs to be totally shutdown. The workholding configuration currently installed needs to be removed and new workholding installed. The new workholding will secure the part and keep the MAGNUM components square to the CNC tooling. Once it's all installed and verified, it's a rather quick operation, just two to three very light passes with a special face mill that just kisses the powdercoat and removes minimal billet material and a glossy machined finish. It's really the multiple setups, programming, and machining the workholding for this op, then the breakdown and reconfiguration to machine MAGNUM parts again that is the challenge. It would be super simple with multiple machines (which is GOAL NUMBER ONE with the new shop). And that's why we tapped a neighboring machine shop to perform this step. This will allow us to continue to run MAGNUM parts for you at full speed.
For those that have already placed their order and patiently waited, those orders will all ship at roughly the same time. A big job shop like theirs will knock out everything we give them in one shot.
I hope "days"...What kind of timeframe to complete are they telling you? Weeks or months?
Last machinist we hired at work requested, and we approved, to make a mounting grid plate. Machine mounting has been made pretty quick and easy ever since. We try to design outer dimensions to half inch increments so we only need to drop in pins on the corners and one or two adjustable clamps. Pieces without steps that need 100%top surface machining still take 2 facing operations but the 2nd op is just to go over where the clamps were set at. It's a pretty quick adjustment, just moving the clamps over a couple inchesUpdate 9/14
