The tackform phone holder I was using doesn't have a long enough mounting screw to mount on the BPM. Anyone know the right thread type, etc. offhand? Need to track down some longer bolts.
1/4-20 is the thread pitch.

AR | SLAP / BPM Structurally Located Accessory Point / Bulletproof Mount

Bronco6G.com forum Members, use the code B6GSLAPME20 for 20% off your purchase!!!

It's stealthy, low profile, and probably the way the OEM 'ACCESSORY READY' mount point should have been designed from the get-go.
We took the OEM plastic 'ACCESSORY READY' panel with its single (flimsy) 1/4-20 threaded location and deconstructed it. What you have now is a plastic dash trim piece with a threaded metal sleeve and nut inserted. The threaded feature has been known to come apart. From what we've seen from feedback from our customers, one to three mm of tolerance is common, when mounting their BAM.

What we did was turn the plastic part and design a 6061 billet piece that uses M6 threaded hardware to mount to the steel dash structure, making a very rigid and 'bomb proof' mounting location. We took it a couple steps further by adding two more 1/4-20 threaded locations that flank the original center location, making the single piece so much more versatile. Add in our proprietary keyway to accept our B.A.L.L.S. and you have a formula of:

1/4-20 316 stainless bolt + 6061 billet ball (20mm or 1") + 6061 billet bracket + M6 316 stainless bolt -into the steel dash structure.
It literally doesn't get any beefier than this.
The AR | SLAP / BPM accepts out AR | BAM & TAP and is brand agnostic to other manufacturers. It will allow their rail/mount something substantial to mount to. I'm 3D printing the prototype tomorrow. The final product will be cerakoted to match the surrounding dash plastics and give the AR | SLAP / BPM an OEM look. The ARCHETYPE RACING script will be machined into the part and have a similar appearance to the OEM 'ACCESSORY READY' script which is very subdued.

LOVE this setup. Switched out the T.A.P. for a S.L.A.P. because I’m some sort of masochist. Cleaned up my dash and overall view significantly. I only use 3 arms at any given time - so, this worked out well for me. Waiting on one more B.A.L.L. to ship so that I can throw on a Tackform GoPro mount as needed.

Next I need to wire up my external antenna and mount it to the cowl. Still need to finalize a plan on where that’s going…ideally along the windshield trim and down the A-pillar.

I just received my SLAP mount and it is indeed a work of art. Unfortunately as I was removing the OEM "accessory ready" mount one of the screws flew off and down the air intake return in front of the windshield. I tried to fish it out with a magnet but no success. Hopefully that doesn't cause any issues or rattling. Anyone know where I can get a replacement screw? Mine was actually TP15, not TP20. Although that wouldn't matter for a replacement as long as it's same length and threading. Hopefully someone can help me out here. I suppose a trip to my local Ford dealership might work too but don't have time to make that trip right now. Thanks

When I looked at ours, while it was disassembled, the screw, like yours, didn’t look like a machine screw. It had a thread pitch similar to a wood screw. Your easiest solution would be to hit the hardware aisle at ACE Hardware or Home Depot and match it up.

Sorry to hear about your missing screw. Other than what you tried, there isn’t an easy way to get to anything that falls into the dash vent. Maybe after some driving it could work its way toward your cabin filter. 🤞🏼

What bit is used to remove the existing mount? I can’t seem to figure it out.

I believe it's a T-20 TORX drive. There may be some inconsistency in what Ford jams in there, though.
Yeah it just doesn’t grab but that seems to be what they are, I’ll mess with it again tonight. Got my bronco 2 days ago and have been looking forward to throwing my SLAP in there.

I can't remember the exact size but you have to go in at a bit of an angle IIRC, leaning the ratchet towards the windshield. Once you figure it out it's pretty easy.

Any trick to eliminating the small movement this piece has? I've followed the instructions (backing off, pulling mount towards the dash), but that hasn't fixed it. Again, it's a small amount, but I figured it'd be as movement free as the stock piece. Maybe a strip of automotive doublesided tape will be my next try between the dash/mount.
