Awning mount?

Hey guys, I’ve got a hookeroad discovery rack and have a smittybilt tent on top. Is there any sort of mount I can clamp onto the side of this rack to hold an awning? I don’t really have space to use the tslots so I’m looking for an alternative.

Can you mount to your tent?
I have an FSR tent and mounted my awning to the lower half of it.

Prinsu make a low profile mount. RCI makes one too, but it hangs a bit lower and made it difficult to take the front panels off. It was doable, but had to take extra caution not to scratch.

Does the Hooke have slots along the vertical sides of the crossbars?

While you are looking check out the OpenRoad. They have both a 270 and a 180 along with the walls. They are having an Autumn Sale going on right now. I think one of this should fit. Check em out. I have a Gobi rack and planning an OpenRoad 270 and eventually a hardshell tent.

I’ve got these slots along the sides, looking for some sort of clamp style mount that could hold onto the rack at those points

Not unless I drilled into the tent frame. It’s an older smittybilt hardtop so it doesn’t have any extra mounting points that I can see

I have an FSR tent and mounted my awning to the lower half of it.

I did this with my FSR Aspen Lite. Drilled holes in the bottom slats of the RTT to accommodate the awning brackets. Awning brackets are pretty much permanently attached to the RTT. I can remove the awning from the brackets if needed. I just keep it as all one unit now.
