The manual on pages 315-316 identifies spare fuses. Does anyone have experience with other Ford models or the Bronco and know if these spares are simply spare fuses or also powered fuse locations?

The aux switches are great, but some of us may need power that is not connected to a switch. Such as constant power or ACC power.

Watch this. IIRC it does a good job explaining the switch wiring and I believe the fuses are powered, but you have to decide which goes to what.

Sorry for the confusion. I am specifically talking about the inside under the glove box fuse panel. Fuses unrelated to the AUX switches. For things like dashcams, radar detectors, or other internal powered items.

Thank you though!

I believe there is power on the dash for those already. Also, you can get the switches to always have power.
No idea about the glove box though.

Spare fuses are usually just that: Spares. Usually if you take the spares out and check for terminals, you'll find that there aren't any.

As for hooking up small-load accessories on BAT, ACC, or IGN circuits, then checking what fuse does what is easy. Once you know when a fuse is powered, then you know where to put in an Add-A-Fuse.

If you look closely on a ATC-spec fuse, then you should see two extremely small contacts on the top. Using a voltmeter or a test light, you can quickly and accurately test fuses by checking for power on both sides of the fuse (see pic). You can also use this method to see when a fuse is powered in a particular situation. Then you can insert the Add-A-Fuse, wire up your dashcam, and be on your merry way.

Personally, using an Add-A-Fuse for anything bigger than a 5A load is a bad idea in my experience. The fuse terminal, bus bar in the PDC (Power Dist. Center, AKA the fuse box), and the wiring inside and going to the PDC are all sized appropriately for a certain amperage and not much more. Adding more significant loads can burn up PDCs. Always try to find an empty fuse spot that has a single contact if possible. These are usually still hooked up to a bus bar in the PDC and are there for options in the vehicle you may not have, or the manufacturer left blank for future use.

Following as I am currently also researching my first mod of a hardwired Dashcam.

I'll be utilizing an "Add-a-fuse" method like @Thed mentioned above:

One to a Bat+ and one to an ACC fuse in the glove box PDX.

Question is, what size is fuses are in the box, and what are available.

The owners manual States the following:

It appears our owner's manual is wrong. The photo appears to be from Bronco Sport.

Can anyone confirm or does anyone know the correct location of the inside fuse panel?

Maybe remove the pull out portion of the glove compartment and look behind it?

Agreed, there should be two tabs/nubs in the back of the glove box that have to be pressed inwards and the whole door flops down. reveling the fuse box. if its there that is, this is how it is with other Ford Vehicles.

I would like this to be true. Hopefully, someone can show a photo of this.
