Concerned about kicking rocks up into the rocker panels, mudflaps were priority 1 for my base bronco. I wanted something budget friendly and not totally rigid so it would have a little give if it contacted anything. I could have pieced something together myself but really didn’t want to put the time and multiple store trips into figuring it out.

I came across Bro-flaps on a few posts around here and ordered a set on Etsy. They have a couple of different configurations depending on rock rails, steps, squatch, plastic bumpers. Don from Bro-flaps called me up and asked if I would be willing to come over for the install since I was local. He hadn’t yet put a set on a base and wanted to make sure fitment was correct. Install was a breeze and they look great.

Beaming review, so disclosure, he did give me a discount after coming over. I can say this is exactly what I was looking for functionally and visually.

Thanks Nusty. Now I have the specs for the Base and OBX non-SAS, so I now have every spec covered. You have an excellent spec and I’m really glad Bro-Flaps are on your ride.

Just ordered a set today for my base non-Sas two door. Front and rear. Seems like there are a lot of pricey flaps out there that will flex but have some fairly complex hardware. And, then there are affordable rigid flaps that seem likely to crack or tear off the fender flares or both. Hoping these are a reasonable alternative. I gotta say, the customer service ordering through their Etsy store has been excellent.

Looking forward to seeing how the install goes. Thanks for the recommendation.

Here’s the “before.” Hope to be posting “after” next weekend.

Ok! Received and installed my Non-Sas Bro Flaps! Super fast shipping (ordered Friday, arrived Monday) from Portland, OR to Detroit, MI. As I said in my previous post, customer service through their Etsy shop was truly great.

Part of this high level of service was a direct message with links to installation videos. I watched each of the videos a couple times this weekend between the Dutch Grand Prix practice, qualifying and race sessions. Everything was packaged well, parts were in individual marked bags, and I could mostly install using the pics in the included Instructions, having previously seen the install videos.

It’s unclear which spacers to use for the front flaps, but it doesn’t seem like an exact science. I opted for no spacer on the top bolt and 1/2” spacers on the bottom two bolts. This causes the flap to “cup” inward slightly toward the tire, lending a little rigidity, while still laying flat where visible. The rears were also straightforward, though the Z brace does take some adjusting to get the flap to sit level/flush with the fenders.

Buying flaps for the B6G isn’t easy. There certainly isn’t consensus out there about which are the best, partially because everyone has their own specific needs. The variety of bumpers, flares, crash bars, etc. make a standardized set difficult. Which has to drive R&D costs up for aftermarket manufacturers. If I were never going off road, a set of the rigid ones (IAG, Mabett, Ford) would probably be my choice due to their OEM appearance and relatively low cost.

I like the RekGen and Rokblokz. But the reviews on here are mixed and in the $300-400 range, those flaps need to be flawless in quality, durability and effectiveness for me to take the leap.

Bro Flaps have found a niche. Overall, I think they look really nice installed and the price seems fair in the context of other options. The material seems to be of good quality, though it would be fine if they were a little thicker/more rigid. Interested to see if they develop “memory” over time due to wind/gravel/slush pushing back on them while driving. Will report back on that and the spray pattern after I’ve driven them for a while.

I need a set of these anyone have the link?

I was running the Mabett mudflaps for a while as this thing kicks up rocks and mud like no other. I was on some heavy rocks on Fordyce trail the other day and came out missing half a mud flap on both sides. It looked like a shark had taken a bite out of both. Really not a fan of the rigid mud flaps and looking for something that will deform over rocks.
