Aesthetically pleasing while providing function! Minimize the sun glare with our Matte black hood black out, offered in many options to go with whatever style you may alrady have, ..or get in the future. Currently offered as a standard single color (typically matte black is the go-to, although satin, gloss and a handful of colors are also available), we will be offering this with an accent color option as well for those who want a touch of color (also works well with our "First" stripe kits). Additionally, we have a couple design options (see: Wanderer Hood and On the Rocks Hood). This is an easy DIY, even for the novice. An install video is also available on our YouTube channel as well. Vinyl is typicaly 3M, but may be Avery or Oracal (color dependant), but is always wrap vinyl for an easy dry method application with air-release adhesive.

Can't say as we've yet to have one in the shop. I'd guess probably not exactly. There are several "matte blacks" andmany ways to produce decals. Ford is using what I believe is a thermal printing method that is far beyond waht we produce, as thermal allows gloss and matte in the same film. We have to layer to accomplish this. Anyway, what we found was thier film just isn't the same. We;ve come very close with 3M's economy matte controltac vinyl, but don't gurantee the longevity of it as it's a calandered film and doesn't conform like the wrap film does.
Sorry for the lengthy explanation, probably didn't help much.
Greg ;)

I appreciate the explanation, really like on the rocks and need to do something about the glare on the hood but it would look silly if it didn't match the existing graphics

I have noticed more of a sun glare at the front corners of the hood by the trail sights. Where it rounds up. Maybe you can develop a strip along that curve of the hood

I have seen another company producing what is technically the reverse of the hood bump (think a "U" design), I'm just nto a fan of the design, so I haven't worked on that area. I;m sure I will eventually. Keep checking back!

So i have the Avery dennison 2021 color selection guide.
The uc900 translucent films color #181 Onyx is a VERY close match. Can you do "on the rocs" in that?

Sorry, this is a little off topic, but do I remember correctly that a forum member said you make a cover for the warnings on the sun visors? Can you provide a link? I couldn't find them on your site. Sorry everyone, back to it.

I have seen what you are talking about but that is not what Bronco joe is talking about. I know because i have the same problem. I have circled where i am having really bad glare.
