WOW! There sure are a lot of opinions on here. Also getting perspective from outside the situation is good. Especially from people who actually own a Bronco.
I get the reasoning behind letting go of the i want my sasquatch package mentality and i won't win against a big dealership, but it still really pisses me off to be treated like shit after waiting so long.
Yesterday Found out Phil Long Ford isn't honoring any price protection for me
My original build came in at $56840.00 the price now is $58590.00 without the sasquatch package or the modular bumper.
A Bronco in the holding pen which is 100% like the build I ordered, but say sold on the windshield has a sticker price of $67810.00.
Oh, and every Bronco except 2 had the sasquatch package on it.
ill see what happens tomorrow when i go back....... calm and friendly like
Embrace the power of "AND".IMO, the company/factory would not do this. My guess, your DEALER did. Why? Who knows. Maybe they re-did the paperwork and screwed up.
I think they are screwing you because true price protection you have via a factory rebate is provided by Ford not the dealer. Big difference in a dealer honoring an original MSRP vs what Ford is providing that is a sperate deal.WOW! There sure are a lot of opinions on here. Also loads of SAS suspension take-offs available...easy to swap them over at a fraction of the SAS cost. SAS wheels are also plentiful, but having gotten rid of mine quickly I don't recommend them. They're heavy for what they are, many owners report that when they tried to pull out the bolts for the fake beadlocks that they were either cross-threaded or stripped, and for far less than those wheels cost new you could get a good set of Methods. I went with methods with bead grip technology with a 35 offset, and I am thrilled because they not only allow me to air way down but they also weigh almost 10 lb less per wheel. Even if you had SAS wheels and you end up putting actual beadlocks on them, that only holds the beat on the outside of the wheel...and it would cost you a lot of money for the rings and then when you install them it would make them not DOT approved. If you just want them for looks, there are a lot of them available for a low price. It seems like that while there are a lot of Broncos available now that are brand new for MSRP, that certain combinations are still fetching stupid money...so jumping on the opportunity you have and just building it out the way you want seems like a good way to go. The sway bar is nice to have, although it is not absolutely necessary...but seeking another Bronco with one means you're only option is Badlands (and whatever stupid cost dealer x asks).4.46 non sas with auto vs 4.70 with sas hardly noticable with the 2.7. Sas is .47 inches higher but with 1/2 inch bump stop to keep 35s out of fenders and wider fender flares on the sas. Everything else is the same.
Score! You lucked out...Man, I lucked out. I was ready to buy a Bronco, either Badlands or Wildtrak. Searched around and every one that was sitting on a lot around here was 10K over sticker. For the hell of it, I contacted a dealer I dealt with before (100 miles away). Someone just gave up their BL SAS in Area 51. When I say just gave it up, it was about an hour before I called. Gave a deposit over the phone and picked it up next day. Paid sticker for it. Badlands, Sasquatch, leather, modular bumper, 2.7, 10spd auto. $56,700 + or - a few. Basically just the way I would've ordered it.
Hearing these horror stories about ordered vehicles is crazy.
Tell them everything. Not just the dealer ordered the incorrect Bronco build, but also inform them the dealer is pulling the price protection. If they're investigating, give them all of the crap this dealer is pulling. Good luck.DOG, As of Friday afternoon FoMoCo had opened a level 2 inquiry( whatever that means) I am supposed to have a "interview" phone call on Monday.
Full of doubt about that happening.
I feel for you. This would suck badly. It's not what you want. The dealer feels like they have the upper hand (they do--today) and clearly doesn't care about your long-term business. Do you reward the dealer for this? Or figure they are getting rewarded either way?Ill make this short.
I know im not the first either
3 years ago I ordered a 4 door Bronco badlands with hard top, sasquatch package , modular bumper midd package, 2.7 L engine, 10spd trans, eruption green, and marine grade interior. nothing over the top.
Obviously the order had a lot of "constraints" to it.
so it finally shows up at the dealership but it is without the sasquatch package.
ordered what I wanted and for the price of these Broncos and time waiting I want what I ordered.
the dealerships salesman had absolutely zero s**ts to give about it. He told me to take it or leave it, they'll sell it fast. he said it wasn't his fault or problem. He told me he had 3 others going in exactly spec'd like mine was supposed to be but those were already spoken for. He would not communicate with FoMoCo he would not speak with any higher ups at Phil Long Ford.
he would not negotiate anything.
he did say i could order another on after August 14th.
I was / am furious
I waited 3 years for a bronco to show up thats configured like darn near every unsold bronco on a car lot.
So I called FoMoCo customer support and lodged a complaint about it. I figured nothing would happen but got to b**ch to someone about it.
I did learn calling and having the vin# for my build was very helpful. the reps research revealed that
"my Bronco" build was in fact changed to remove the sasquatch package to ensure a build on 9/9/22.
the rep said it could have been the dealership.
regardless the Bronco was built to match the modified build order.
As of 4:43pm 7/21/23 Colorado time a level 2 inquiry has been opened for my complaint.
I was advised to seek out a different dealership.
I doubt anything will come of it.
does anyone have any insight on this kind of situation?
or am I just starting over, buying used( beat), or looking at another brand?
I do sympathize, but all is not lost. My non-sas BL has 4.7 gears... they are available with a BL. Check the window sticker. If it has the gears, just lift it and add tires.Have the exact build but with Sasquatch. Only thing your really giving up is the 4.7 gears. Tires, flares, suspension and, bumpers most people swap out anyways. If you really need it , message me I have it storage.
F Phil Long!! So useless. Walked on my two year old order from them. You're a bother to them for anything related to a Bronco.Ill make this short.

That said, a Badlands without Sasquatch really isn't much of a difference. 35s is about it. Technically more suspension travel (still fits 35s) and no ugly XL flares. Otherwise, both front and rear lockers and everything else.Ill make this short.
