We have a 24 Bronco Raptor. When my wife calls me via wireless CarPlay or wired CarPlay the roaring noise in the background is overwhelming. Initially I thought the mic was picking up wind noise from the cabin being new to Broncos. However that is not the case. On longer calls the noise will ebb and flow so it's obviously some software glitch. It is not present during bluetooth calls.
I have some experience with the CarPlay issues going back a few years in the Super duty line of trucks. It is a known issue there where the mic volume for the caller is really weak for the other party that is not present on bluetooth calls. Particularly in my 21 450 and it was an issue from day 1. Finally Ford replaced the apim and that resolved the issue. Other issues a failing or faulty apim can present is the gps gets lost mid trip. Because CarPlay defaults to the onboard gps it will cause any maps/driving directions to go wonky mid trip too. Interestingly enough unplugging the phone and google maps for instance goes right back online where it is supposed to be. Plug it back in and immediately it goes off target.
Anyways sorry for long rambling post. I wanted to solicit some feedback as my previous experience with Ford is always a battle on stuff like this. Thanks for your time.
