Short story: if you're on the fence AT ALL between the standard or HD Eibach springs for PT Stage 2s, I'd encourage starting with the HD spring.
Longer story: I started with a used 2-door '22 WT (V6/10 speed auto STD) with HOSS 2.0 suspension. I swapped to the Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 after adding weight with ADD Rockfighter bumpers, full SFR skids, M8000 winch, RCI slider/steps, TrailRax rack & side pax, DIY rear seat delete/cargo deck, lights, etc. I only wanted 1" of lift over stock as I plan on staying with 35" rubber, but I may want to try 37s later. I ended up picking the HD spring for the front since most of the added weight was over the front axle and standard spring rear. The OEM rear Bilsteins also seemed to be on the harsher side of ideal to me, and I didn't want that.
Well, it was not a great setup. Noticable side to side and front/back body motion. There was significant jacking/sinking in the rear when shifting/accelerating/braking. Panic stops felt like a stopie with the rear hanging in the air. Corners were unsettling to some degree depending on the situation. I also bottomed the rear out on mild bumps with moderate loads at low to moderate speeds.
This week I swapped to the HD spring in the rear and it was a significant improvement in ride and handling both on the road and on the trail. The truck is much, much more composed in every way. I could carry more speed with more weight through rough stuff and didn't bottom out at all. I also think the stiffened rear is forcing the front to flex a bit more.
I had wondered if I should have just beefed up the springs on the Bilsteins, but I am now very happy with my switch to the Eibachs.
I currently have the doors, roof, and rack off, but will update if anything changes when this center of gravity raising weight goes back on the Bronco in the fall.
There can be a lot of truck to truck variation and also personal preferences, but if you're at all on the fence on which spring to option on your personal coilovers, I'd recommend going to the HD spring first. They are not stiff or harsh at all.
Note: the springs have not settled in completely yet, but I expect I'll have more lift with them, too. I lowered the perches about 1/2" when the HD spring went on and the rear still came out about 3/4" higher than with the standard spring.
