Bizarre one here, and not sure how to correct it, or if it even matters

I just programmed a Severe Duty Rack, same way I have done many of them now, Forscan to swap vin, FDRS to PMI the rack, Forscan to swap vin back, Back to FDRS to see if anything else needs done..

Everything went as normal, All codes cleared without issue... Forscan thinks everything is fine.

When I go into FDRS however, it pops up a dialog saying that multiple vins are found... Everything matches my original VIN, except the Gateway Module... whitch somehow has the last wrong 5, the first part of the vin matches my original vin fine though.

Can't find any easy way to change it either, and not finding anyone on the interwebs with a suggestion...

I know folks sometimes get used ones out of the junkyard, so there must be a way to change it, but the onlyt suggestions I've found are take it to a dealer.

Anyone ever dealt with this? Any suggestions?

Should I even worry about it, I'm guessing my telematics are going to be reporting a bad vin now...

Select the correct VIN it’s supposed to be when FDRS asks you to, then PMI the GWM. Should fix the vin issue.
Awesome, I hovered that button several times, but it worried me ;)

I thought they corrected all of the vin swap hokey pokey with the procal and the severe duty rack. Is this still necessary?

If you don’t want/don’t have a procal, yes.
Also still lots of models not supported by the procal for programming.

Like Ducatti said, Not all of us want to buy a procal strictly to install a severe duty rack. This is the seventh one I've done, That'd be $3500 or so worth of Procals, Plus I think this might actually be the first one I've installed in a 'supported vehicle' (Two Door Badlands)

I don't blame anyone who does use a Procal, but they are still pretty iffy on working without a good deal of time on the phone with Ford...
