So, when I start the Bronco at night / in the dark, my headlights come on (set to Auto).

After driving about 1/4 mile the picture on the dash then adds a white bar. The first picture is when I start driving. The second picture is after a 1/4 mile.

Your radar is actively detecting traffic in front of you for emergency braking. You'll see it changing colors the closer you get to the object in front of you. Also for auto dimming headlights it only works/detects above a certain speed.

Could it have something to do with the auto high beams?? I hate that feature so it's turned off so I wouldn't know.

I don't have the lux package in my badlands but I definitely do not get that bar thing with the auto high beams.

It's for the front sensor for radar cruise and active stop assist or whatever ford calls their collision avoidance package. It doesn't come on until you are above a certain speed.
