Hello from Chicago

Greetings from a long time car enthusiast.

I’ve had many cars over the years, mostly performance road cars, but I’ve never had an off-roader.

When the 1st gen F150 Raptor came out in 2010, I was dead set on getting one. Test drove it, loved it, but then the harsh reality set in. Lengthwise, It did not fit in our small garage space that is inside a tight city parking garage. So that dream was dashed.

Recently moved to a new place, that’s still in downtown Chicago, but with a larger garage space. Finally. Raptor time!

Ok, maybe not an F150 Raptor (still too long to make it comfortable to park anywhere in the city) but the Braptor seems like the perfect size.

Wife OK’d it. I just need to sell my 911 first to make room for it. That and I need to find the right one with the spec I want , at the right price. My understanding is that the Braptors are no longer unobtainium like when they first came out, and a healthy discount can be had.

thanks for sharing! ruby red looks great. I’m between that or desert sand and shelter green. Can’t really go wrong with any color on the Braptor. I do wish there was a yellow color available.

Its Hot Pepper Red. I am orignally from Chicago been in TN for 8 years. Still have family up there my father in law is south side and my sister lives in Brookfield.

Welcome from another Chicago native. Born and raised in the city, DePaul grad.

Was recruited for a new job opportunity and moved to Michigan in 2007. Still have family in Chicago and it will always be home for me, but have grown to love my adopted home.

Those downtown parking spaces can get a bit tight, but you won't regret going with a Bronco, especially a Raptor. Just remember to adjust your expectations coming from a 911.

I kept my sports cars. I'm fortunate that I have different choices depending on my mood.

ah ok! Colors options get confusing with manufacturers changing things up over time. I’ve only referenced colors listed on the current configurator while scouring the internet for pics. So I’ve probably been looking at a bunch of hot pepper that I incorrectly assumed to be ruby and eruption greens that I thought was shelter green lol. Probably best to check out local dealer stock and see these colors in the flesh.

I wish you great success in your Bronc Rap hunt! There are many dealerships out there with great prices/incentives/discounts. You may have to travel outside your zip code to get a great deal. Research the shit out of your options and prices prior to salesperson, hand-to-hand combat! You will crush your enemies with knowledge and ultimately prevail! It's always fun knowing more about a car then the guy selling it. Afterwards, you can pick up a great extended warranty from any Ford dealership and can shop around for that best price deal as well.

Keep in mind, this beast has a hell of a height hanicap and most parking garages in downtown AZ keep my Bronc at home into wifey's treacherous hands. I can only imagine the tight squeeze of parking spots in Shyraq. As a daily driver, more than 30 miles, it is not friendly to the digital coin purse (or man satchel).

The Raptor will however, improve your looks, complexion and body/mass index score. It lowers cholesterol and increases your T-count I heard... well, maybe ask your doctor about that stuff.
