Hello All,

Glad to be here, just doing the obligatory post to say hello as we just brought our '25 Bronco Raptor in Shelter Green home on the 23rd. Been busy ever since with learning everything and spending money on accessories and trinkets, as this is the first vehicle I've ever purchased that I didn't know everything about before buying.

We actually were not looking specifically for a Raptor model. We were interested in a "Bronco" but weren’t sure which one and the 0/0/0 deal Ford had going around and during Labor Day pulled us in.

We arrived at our selected dealer around 1pm proceeded to drive every model we thought was of interest and drove multiple two door and four door models of varying options/trim including a Sport. We were filling up the dealer's customer parking area with all our test drives and I'm sure the salesperson thought we were just spending a Saturday test driving vehicles with no intent on buying.

We still hadn't found that must have, but they had a red Badlands full optioned on the lot across the street, and they had two Raptors one in Shelter Green and one in Desert Sand. The GF loved the Badlands in Ruby Red, but loved the Raptor in Shelter Green as did I, but we really weren't considering the Raptor as an option as it was outside the 0/0/0 deal as was the '25 Badlands. But we discussed it further and broke the news to the salesman that we wanted to drive the Ruby Badlands and the Shelter Green Raptor.

The look on his face was priceless as at this point I know he thought we were just joy riding. What he didn't know is my previous salesperson was now on the finance team, and I had special ordered my '21 F-350 just before the covid and chip debacle (I was lucky as a month later everything was delayed and then nothing under MSRP for a long time) and my kids bought some other vehicles over the years from him.

He proceeded to go inside to ask permission expecting the "No they can't drive the Raptor today" and by this time it was after 4pm as well. He comes back out with a shocked face and say we'll bring over the Badlands and you can test drive that while we move all the other vehicles to get the Raptor out (it was fully barricaded).

Drove both and funny part was I had to stop and put $20 in fuel in the Raptor as the kid who moved it didn't tell anyone it had no fuel. Get back after driving the Raptor, asked him to give us a minute as we mulled it over (he's thinking we're walking) and proceeded to hand him the fuel receipt; that was fun. We do just that discussed options and colors and obviously we decided on the Raptor for a few reasons, but main one is Ford had dropped the price below MSRP and the price difference between the Ruby Badlands high option and the Raptor was not significant enough not to go the Raptor route.

Though we still are blown away at this level of optioned vehicle that there is no key memory or mirror/seat memory. I know and understand, what the point of the Raptor is, but it has everything else, just seems odd and annoying…

We broke the news to the poor kid as his mouth fell open, negotiated price and then the standard financial stuff. He's still thinking “they might want it, but they can't afford it” (I wasn't thinking we were buying that day and I wore some slopy shorts and sandals as it was a relax Saturday). The finance guy already knew and was just smiling at the kid in the "you have somethings to learn"... Paper work's almost done, salesman's face falls once again when we tell finance our down payment. Fun part was we got to banter about it all and he fully admitted that he didn't think we were buying since we asked about the 0/0/0 originally and that for sure we weren't going to get to test drive the Raptor let alone buy it. He say's “when I asked about test driving the Raptor,” I was told "just let them do what they want, and they don't need you with them". Apparently, dealer policy on the higher end Mustangs and Raptors is salesman must be in the vehicle and buyers fully vetted… not today kid. We all had a good laugh...

Anyhow, hope you've enjoyed my long-winded story and hope I can contribute here; and some of you may know my handle from one of the Super Duty sites. Cheers

That is one interesting color… the light really brings it alive.

Congrats on the new rig!

Congrats on the new rig!
Thank you and it truly is an interesting color, more so than my Antimatter Blue, which is interesting as well.

Had tires installed on the 350 a few years ago, lady asked what color, I said “blue”, she looked at me with an odd look and typed it in (as black I'm sure as it was overcast). I come back to pick up and she say "you know I thought you were color blind or nuts when you said your truck was blue, sure enough they pull it in under the lights and that damn thing is blue"...

I enjoy that they are having fun with the colors in the blob of black and gray vehicles, and no offense as I too have one car in black and another in silver...

In low light:

Nothing to major, as I'm older now and travel so much that I just want something fun and reliable.

With that said, I still haven't been able to resist, already ordered and it was delivered to dealer today the Ford Performance Tune, I know there are others going bigger, but back to the above comment.

We do a lot of driving over the passes here and winter sports so ordered a second set of wheels and will be mounting LT315/70R17 Hakkapeliitta LT3 winter tires on Method 703's +25 offset. in matt black, I really wanted the bronze, but GF wouldn't budge and she's probably right the bronze might look unsightly with this color.

Outside of the tune and wheels, just some small items to personalize, but I am looking at lights. Lots are not aware of this company here, but I have their "Beast" lights on my F-350 and they are unbelievable: High Performance Lighting - Shop Auto Lights & Car Lights Online
BEAST - 3 MODE LED DRIVING LIGHT

F-350 with them mounted along with my PIAA RF10 10" Ion Yellow Wide-Spread Fog Beam:

Welcome, OP!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can someone with those OEM Braptor rails & steps tell me how long it takes to get the step on and off?

My ‘25 tube steps are very convenient but they have to go at some point if I’m ever gonna wheel for real.

Great story. Awesome vehicle. I want one, wife says if we drop that kind of cash on another set of wheels (we own 11 vehicles), she wants a Range Rover (we just gave our L322 to my grandson back in March). I'd like a Raptor. I'm too old to replace the wife (not because of the performance, but tired of training them).

No worries, after looking at with a small 1/4" impact driver I'm sure you could have off in les than 10min

I understand on all accounts:wink: this is our 7th vehicle in the stable... Have her go drive one, the Rovers are nice, but I don't think they ride as well or are as special as the Bronco Raptor is.
