another approach to a heritage build (albeit on a budget) ... really doesn't take too much to achieve a simple retro vibe - fun journey
Understated and beautiful!

Love your ride! Your grille is exactly how it should be painted in my opinion with the body color edge, really well done.

The only thing I think is missing is the lack of slots in the wheels, I think those would be the icing on the cake. All in all though, your ride is stunning, I like it a lot!!
I love the wheels just the way they are.

ditto on slots - couldnā€™t find any out there that would fit or had the offset I was looking for. I have come to realize not having slots means no brake dust, the wheels stay remarkably clean

I agree with you about Mallard - they really screwed the pooch by not just bringing it back. Eruption is okay but actual Mallard would have been better - but i guess the designers who wear skinny jeans needed to put their own stamp on it - just wear regular jeans, they're classic.

Love it! Reminds me of my uncles Landcruiser when I was a boy. Great build!

Not throwing shade - here comes some shade - but it looks like there is something wrong with that paint job. I'd take it back and have whomever painted it do something about that orange peel. The paint looks sticky still. Or maybe its ISO noise from your camera... idk...

I was gonna say the same.. Appears to be full of orange peel. Im assuming (hoping) its a wrap and not paint.

I really like this, with the exception of the grill. There is something about horizontal white lines w/ the circles surrounding the headlines. But overall, very well done, and I agree, this color is great. I bought before eruption green, and its the only other color I would have gotten. This look better.
I'd prefer the shape of the Wildtrak grill, painted white with the smaller letters. Also, the outer edge of the grill looks much better when it is painted the same as the body color.

Overall they did a nice job, particularly with the wheels and hard top.

Does anyone know the cost of the 20in Detroit steel wheels? I ask because on their website they donā€™t show pricing and they want you to fill out an order form.

In case youā€™re interested in the exact wheels, I follow Detroit Steel on IG and they posted this Galpin build.

Like this one? I am adding the chrome wheels soon. Not sure what size I am going with.
