Anyone else have this issue? I have one side broken and both sides the hinge covers are always popping open. This is an Anderson Composites hard top but I believe they are OEM Ford parts? I have not gone to Anderson yet but I will try that angle to see if they can get me the parts, whether I have to pay or not. The issue looking at the Ford parts diagram is I think I need the entire back window to fix this issue perhaps.

They're sending me the plastic part on the glass, and new covers as well, for free which they didn't have to do. We'll see if I can get it disassembled and back together correctly.

Awesome! Hope it goes well! If you want to spend the dough your dealer should be able to do it as well

Hey! I have the same problem on both my hinge plates and covers. The rep at Anderson Composites keeps sending me new ones. I’ve replaced both of them already and about a month later they both broke again. They seem really flimsy. Did you replace yours yet? If so, are they holding up?

Finally got around to replacing them yesterday. One of the broke immediately when I tried to install the hinge cover again, the other one is holding up. From what I can tell that piece in between the metal hinge and the glass only comes with the glass itself, so I guess I'll have to ask Anderson to send me more pieces. They seem incredibly brittle, I don't know if they're a bad batch of them or that's how they always are?

So I have officially gone through three sets of the hinge covers and that base plate you are referring to. I was told by a manager at Anderson that the latest set they sent me that I just replaced is supposed to be better quality since they changed some materials up on their end. Both ended up breaking about a week ago. I’m in contact with them again. They are extremely low quality molds and not sure if there will be resolve here. I’ll keep you posted.

They sent me 2 more. I broke both of those immediately. And in the process the defrost wire broke off the window. Good times.

I have this top as well - installed April 2024 - this entire back glass assembly is a giant piece of crap. Both hinges have failed including the covers as noted here - both connectors to the defrost have come off and they sent me some jenky kit that made a giant mess and still does not work now both struts have come off the glass with their cheap stickers they used to fasten it - nobody should be buying this product - its complete garbage.

We reattached mine but I haven't plugged it back in yet to see if it actually works. I also had some more mechanically clever guys (actual mechanics) install the last plastic spacer they sent and it worked this time. So for now my top is back together. If everything falls apart again I will probably just try buying the $700 back window from Ford. Hopefully it fits.

I came in here to affirm the whole sentiment the rear glass engineering is absolute garbage. In 6months use hinge plates are deteriorating, hinge covers gone, and one of my struts have separated from the glass.

Thing’s gonna need some finesse to make it back on for the winter. I guess it looks cool….but the factory soft top seems way better on most fronts.

Anyone else get constant creaking all over too?

Do you have the factory top or the Anderson? Both my hinge covers are kind flopping but at this point I got it so they don't fall off, at least. I had both struts come off the glass also. Had a glass guy reattach them, and they are holding so far. My glass tends to leak a little at the top. And both hinges are rusty as hell now, so there are rust stains on the top and glass. You can't see the hinges under the covers, but kind of annoying. Yeah, it's a bit of a shit show all around. I might buy a whole new window off Ebay and start over at some point.

And yes, a lot of creaking. Probably less noisy overall than a soft top, though.

I need to replace the passenger side strut before it goes. It feels like a ticking time bomb lol.

thank God only 1 of my hinge covers is problematic but doesn’t completely come off

I tighten up the latches every month or so and it keeps things relatively quiet. I also apply silicon grease to all the top rubber too whenever I take it off
