Went to lift my hood up and felt resistance. Didn't realize it until after I tried a few times that it was caught on the plastic molding and it popped out of socked and bowed and pretty sure broke a tab. Anyone have this happen?

Looks like that molding is not aligned properly now either.

Yeah it happened to me right after I drove home from the dealership. I don’t think they had it snapped in at the factory. The dealership overnighted it and put on with no problem. Ford had 60 of them as of last Monday.

same here. dealer ordered and replaced mine just a few weeks after taking delivery. Ford dealer caught it when my bronco was in the shop getting the driver door aligned (scraping at delivery).

I dropped it by Ford service right before close. Online appointment thing was saying July 6th. Said they've had 3 departments within service closed off and on last few months. Said he'd try to get it done by the weekend. Apologized and said that sucks a brand new car has that issue. Closing in on 5k so recommended the oil change while it's in there and had some child safety lock recall type thing to be checked. Thanks for the replies.

Mine did the same. I snapped back in on the sides but I think the warping in the middle is too far gone

Only popped the hood to look at my engine build date cause I couldn't remember and then saw I'm one day off one of the last ones on the list. Day 282 one day after the 281 on the list.

Figures something else goes wrong for checking on it.

Got it back today. New cowl put on. Said it is the same part so most likely will happen again until the part is updated.

Passed the child safety lock recall and had first oil change / tire rotation. Guess next one will probably be about the same time I'll need a new cowl...
