I finally got around to trying to install ss3 into the capable bumper. You will either have to drill a side hole in the plastic, which I am leaning towards or magically find the correct bolt and nut replacement, there isn't much room to adjust or tighten the mount. I had the whole "pod" apart to install and there is no easy way except to drill a hole to tighten the side hardware

Side note, pod is 2 pieces and can come apart. See last pic.

So, I am doing mine right now....

I got the kit from @Diode Dynamics that is advertised as the replacement for the factory fogs on the STANDARD bumper. It comes with the little bracket.

Where are you saying you need to drill?

This is what I did:

When you put the bracket on the SS3 and drop it in....it does bump into the plastic housing and doesn't sit as "flush" as the round factory fog.....

What I did was put some m6 nuts I had lying around to work as "spacers", and then just bolted the ss3's in using the factory hardware.

I also have the ssc1's to try in the side pocket. Because of the curvature of the housing, it looks like the only way to make that work is to drill the top and mount the bracket on the top side. looks like there is pretty easy access.

This is ongoing project now so I'll post updates as I go.

But heres' a few pics and a pic of the ss3 installed (with those spacers I used), it's in there tight.

^^^^
SS3 has a little gap (like maybe 1/4", due to the round plastic curve that it sits on top of. You can use spacers like I am, or you can be braver and trim the plastic. I didn't wanna trim so I used nuts as spacers)

^^^ nuts used as spacers (your factor T25 torx bolts don't thread through these nuts, don't be confused by that, they are literally just acting as like bump spacers)

Ok

Wiring is good

Hereā€™s one pic with the yellow fogs and white spots on

One pic with just the amber backlights on

The SS3 fogs are operated by my factory fog switch

The white c1 spots I used aux #5 and I tied all the backlights together and ran them to #6

All buttoned up

Now just have to test the beam pattern tonight against a wall. Fingers crossed I wonā€™t need any adjustment

Hell yeah! That looks awesome! Great job getting the ssc1ā€™s in too. Looks like Iā€™ll be ordering a set for mine as well, but Iā€™m going to do the opposite colors since I have yellow ssc2 ditch lights and white elites on the way already.

Any tips on removing the factory fog and housing?
