Dear @FleshTuxedo , if you're asking these questions, it means you need to get your @$$ out West!

And to answer your question - YES. UT, AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, WY all have areas like this. Tons of open land, open space, mountains all over, and plenty of trails to play on.

If you ever decide to come to Utah let me know and I can give you plenty of routes.

I really do need to venture out that way. I love CO, but haven't experienced much of 'outdoorsing' save for awesome back country snowboarding.

Your from PA?! There are great trails in PA!! Awesome forests all over the state! I know I also gotta get west and that's the plan this year but I can't get to PA enough. Even if it's just to Allegheny National Forest for a weekend!!!

Yeah, but right outside of Philly. If I want to do any trails it's like a 3-4 hour drive each way.
