Whatever they end up with (most likely long travel IFS) I will probably baby it for a year or two and then abuse it well beyond design intent for 10 years. IFS or SFA, I just hope they make it robust.

My source at Ford told me a while back that they were going between a scaled down version of the F-150 raptors IFS, and a SFA and that they were testing both. He did reveal that they have decided on one of the two options but simply sent a ;) when I asked if he could divulge which one they had chosen.

I'm going to pull the "I wasn't born yesterday" card and say that emoji suggests one of the options many of us Bronco fools would like to see.

@Nickp I'm not suggesting your source do this because it hurts me inside, but if his reply was that damn "new small Ford truck" emoji, I would respect his troll game but I would stop listening to him out of principle. :]

In one paragraph it states Ford said they were targeting the Wrangler and then immediately follows on with IFS! So much for lifting the Bronco for greater suspension articulation (and larger diameter wheels and tires). Oh well, Jeep will build me a SFA vehicle, looking more and more I will stay in the Wrangler club with a third new Wrangler.

Maybe the thing to do is wait to see what Ford actually builds. I wouldn't trust MSN to tell me what the shape of the earth is, let alone use their info to make car buying decisions.
Sorry, don't have a lot of faith in Ford. As an example, first FORD SUV by Ford Performance
with ST moniker and no Brembos (even optional?). In fact no better brakes
than they put on Fusions, which are 4-600 lbs lighter.

Cool, that's using prior performance and experience to guide you. But letting a fluff website decide your buying strategy is much less likely to net reliable results.

And what if the Bronco turns out great? It's not like you can't off a JL for a very good return. My girlfriend may do exactly this, as waiting for the Bronco plus a year or two to see OEM improvements and full aftermarket support will deprive her of off-roading fun for too long.

But it's a pattern.......... Supercharged CTS-V's vs what Taurus SHO. Anemic 4.6 in Stang for 14 years. TrailBlazer SS vs what??
No performance Ford has had rear 4 piston calipers until 2020 GT500 (both Dodge and Chevy have had them for years
on all kinds of vehicles). Small V-8's that are huge and can't be swapped into anything easily. And the most ironic, solid
axle FOREVER in mustang that needed IRS, but won't put it in new Bronco that does really need it.

It's hard to BLEED ford blue and be a fan of Ford performance. Hope I'm wrong and Ford chases
killer functionality and not killer sales.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the new Bronco will not include 4 piston Brembo brakes, a supercharged engine or be capable of 10 seconds In the quarter mile either. Damn you Ford!

What was your point? Was it that GM had no answer to a raptor? GM had no answer to an F450, Or that ram or GM had no answer to an F650 or 750? Where is GM’s Answer to a off road capable wrangler or even a grand Cherokee?
I don’t bleed blue either but I’m not so partial to one brand that I don’t see offerings from other brands being just as interesting.
And to bring up a trailblazer SS, Where is the trailblazer SS now?

It was the sole owner of the entire market for a road-centric performance SUV, and it still didn't sell enough for GM to continue it?

I wonder if the TrackHawk will meet the same fate?

Point was that while Ford sells a lot of vehicles the general public likes, they don't go over the top like other brands have
(or if they did, they never sold them in the US, IE. I would have loved to have had an Escort Cosworth, but settled for a used
90 AWD Talon in 95).

I also surely didn't mean those other brands hit absolute home runs in sales either, but at least they gave it a shot.
The Raptor is one example that Ford kind of "invented" the segment recently and went "way" over the top on, but that is about
the only current example I can think (outside maybe the GT500, waiitng on wieght and perf numbers).

It also appears to me that Fords current management is concentrating very intently on making money, versus putting out super
high performing vehicles, so I'm not getting my hopes up that any new vehicle they make will be at the upper end of extreme.

I HATE GM, but they still kept doing it. Coworker just picked up an 09 Z06
(Barret Jackson auction, paid $29,500). I really never knew much about this car.
505 NA HP, 7.0L, full alum frame, only weighs 3140 lbs.

Ford just doesn't build that kind of stuff and if they do, it is limited production and not only
out my price range new, but just goes up in value so I can never afford them (IE, like last gen GT)
