I am curious about the shipping with no chip/modules, but when would the 1 year plan start to have the replacements? I hope they don't start putting chips in the new vehicles and forget about the ones that have shipped. I hope we are not going down the same road that we are on now with people like me waiting for my Bronco (15 months now and counting) and watching others getting there Bronco because they opted for the less options.

It’s good that you’re questioning this…but, why would you think it would be any different? I am amazed by how many people believe the “one year promise”, hook, line, and sinker…, and also think the only chip they will be missing is the auto stop/start chip. 2-3 years from now, this will be fun to read.

I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 for a work vehicle it's missing several chips and Chevy is not going to add them later the truck runs and drives fine but missing charging ports and nav is not a deal breaker for me. just glad that Ford is going to put in the chips at some point and time.

But they didn’t charge you for the missing features they aren’t going to install, correct? So that would be a reasonable solution, in my mind.

I think the big difference here is that Ford IS continuing to charge full price (as far as I can tell) with an empty promise they likely have no intention, nor capability, of fulfilling in the timeframe they are claiming. If ever. Where is the magical semiconductor industry fix coming from, in the next few months, to get production ramped up, distributed, installed in modules, and ultimately modules installed in vehicles at your dealership? In 12 months. Please.

So you paid for the Nav system? Don’t know what the upcharge was but, yeah, I would have thrown the flag there. If it’s a “gotta have” work vehicle the pressure to buy is probably higher.

If this is something like trailer controller for the tow hitch or rear climate controls or something, I'm fine with this but at signing there better be a paper clearly stating what is missing and how long they have to install it. Furthermore, it better have clear language what the consequences are if that date is missed. Without that, I can see Ford looking at some big class action lawsuits. Granted we wouldn't make anything from it but the lawyers sure will.

Premature to answer this question. Ford has not even publicly acknowledged they are doing this for the Bronco, let alone committed to a one-year date.

Considering the number of other deadline commitments Ford has blown past in this launch, it would be foolish to consider the one-year plan written in stone, even when they do announce something.

If Ford's management of the reservation timing is any indication of how they will continue to handle issues, I wouldn't hold them accountable to any responses they have. Even the "1 year" timeline can easily become a 2-3 year one.
