Honestly he is either not being honest or confused about being locked out. Which is odd given the 8th deadline to update orders. Maybe they can't change the model but can update the specs?

Theres only one person to talk to about Broncos that’s knowledgeable at my dealer idk if that’s the case for you but if not, I’d recommend asking some one else other than who you spoke with that might have more information up at your dealership. You would have gotten an email confirmation about your build, that’s more realistic than finding out how you did. I could be wrong because no one really knows we’re all just making educated guesses based on common sense or similar experiences, but I doubt your build is already in progress and you can’t change it.

My dealer added my no charge headliner and changed packages on my BL last night and sent me the revised order sheet, so the system was up, at least part of the day. It seems unlikely a consumer vehicle is in build status, but I remain hopeful for you and all of us.

Request the VIN number. You're entitled to that once the vehicle is scheduled. That's supposed to allow you to shop insurance etc. If he can't give it to you, he's full of shit and you should call him on it.

I believe you. When you circle back see if he can see any dates or a Vin number attached to the order.

Ford has stated the customer will receive emails regarding changes to the order, like here is your VIN email....
