im about to attempt to install one of these kickers without using a plug and play harness. My idea is to use the metra72-5602 speaker harness adapters to steal signal from the kick panel speakers. Doing it this way I will essentially have full range signal left and right then use the same signal for the dash speakers and use the kicker key in bi amp mode. Ill then run new wire from the kicker key to the kick panel 6.5s and a new wire running from the key to the portion of the metra adapter that sends power to the dash speakers.
I know ill lose fade to rear, dont care. Seeing as my plan is to also run the signal that was going to the kick panel 6.5 in full range that isnt being used to power anything anymore to my rear 6.5 speaker pods and not have to mess with any forscan (if it even does anything) and get some actual performance out of them.
In theory i believe this should work flawlessly, guess ill see once i start.
