I’m clueless about everything off-road, so bare with me please. Is the winch mount easily removed and remounted? Say I only get out to trails a few times a year, would it be a hassle to mount/unmount the winch mount on demand to keep the winch stored in the garage most of the time?

For your application you might want a hitch mount with an electrical connection pre-wired at your mount connection.
