Upgraded all my speakers except kick panels. Put 6.5" pods in the rear. What settings are best on the key so that i can get full power to the rear and still be able to fade front to rear. My rears sound like crap.
If I bi amp do I lose fade control? If I don't bi amp do I get full power to the rears?

bi-amp is used if you want to power your 4 front speakers separately with the 4 channels of the kicker key. In that case you’d run new wire to one of the pairs and the key would not power the rears at all.

if you are using the key 200.4 to power the stock 6 speakers, you probably need to make the forscan tweak to remove the high pass filter on the rear speakers

So Bi amp off and I'll still be able to fade?

The key dsp automatically reduces volume to the rear and adds a high pass filter. (It's described in the white paper but not the manual) Even after the forscan adjustment, my rears sounded like crap. So I disabled the kicker dsp (reset by holding mic button down) and it sounded way better in the rear.

Guess I'll play with the settings once I have it installed.

My settings:

Kicker Key 200.4
  • Auto Turn-On: DC
  • Fader: Off
  • Compression: Off
    • If you really like the crank the volume (above 20/30 on touchscreen) you should leave this on.
  • Bi-Amp Mode: Off
  • Kicker EQ: Enabled
  • Time Delay: Enabled
  • High-Pass Filter: 60Hz
    • If you don't have a subwoofer, or are replacing the rear pods with 6.5" speakers, probably should turn this off.
Sounds great.

I should clarify - the kicker key DSP does not use a high pass filter for the rear speakers. It actually cuts the high frequencies to the rear. The purpose of this as well as the reduction in volume to the rears is to move the sound stage to the front. That might be your preference, but I found that I like having more sound with proper treble to the rear speakers. So unfortunately I had to completely disable the DSP. But it's still a good amp regardless and provides a lot more power than the stock head unit.
