Hey all,

Question about Kicker Key 500.1. I have a 2025 Bronco and am running signal from my front left speaker to Kicker Key 500.1 to a kicker sub.

Everything is working great now and have it dialed in quite nicely but one thing I’m curious about is that I have to have the Hi/Lo switch on the Key amp to the Lo input (not pushed in) in order to get any signal to the sub.

I would have thought it would be the opposite as I am running speaker wire from the factory speaker connector. Did something change in how the signal is processed in the 2025’s?

I know the DSPs changed for B&O on the 2025s but not sure about the non-B&O. Assuming you had no sub previously thus the need for a new signal trigger from the front?

I do have the factory sub and am running both. I took the signal upfront as folks have mentioned that the 2025 subs run through a different DSP (A2B) and not suitable to run signal to a key 500.1

I have non-B&O

There always seems to be some confusion about the position of this switch on the Key amps.

I don't know the answer, but I suspect that the button may work backwards from what you expect or something.

If it sounds good - I'd call it good.

Non-B&O still does not have a DSP per say, but they did upgrade the sub amp so now it's an A2B input, similar to the B&O DSP input. So there are no more analog signals going to the back cargo area on either trim level.
