I have the 4wheelparts/pro comp coilovers. I'm a little confused as to how to measure the height. The instructions say not to go lower than 1" on the rear but i don't know where to take the measurement from on the coilover itself. It looks like from the instructions the measurement is taken from the beginning of the threads to the top of the collar. Anybody have any experience?

Look at the printed instructions on the right side of the page. it shows where to measure. You measure the top of the threaded part of the shock to the adjustable collar.

I just installed mine last week. I started with 1" on the rear and 1/2" on the front. It gave me a lot of rake, so i have been upping the fronts to try to level it out. Reach out if you have any questions.

yeah I saw the drawing but it wasn't very clear. I appreciate the response. I'm currently running just the rears until this weekend and with where they came preset I also have a huge amount of rake without having the fronts installed right now. I wasn't looking for much lift anyway so I'll be turning mine way down.

YMMV, my rear settles about 1 inch lower with the default setting, but still more than what I want.
I set it to 1.125'' inch from thread to cap top(1/8 as a safety margin). I am not clear on what to measure as you mentioned. My ground-to-fender height is around 40'' now on a 315/70/17 tire.

I was finally able to install my fronts over the weekend and I have an alignment scheduled for Friday. Have any of you guys running these experience any noises when going over bumps? I'm gonna go thru tonight and check all the bolts. Also I have the fronts adjusted to what looks like 3/16" and they still look pretty tall. I forgot to take before measurements but I'm getting around 39.5" at the top of the fender flare arch. They ride significantly better than factory.

The instructions on mine said to measure from the center hole of the nitrogen fill port to the top of the collar.

Mine do not make any weird noises.

I found the source of the noise. I’ve lost an end link nut…apparently I didn’t torque that one at all. Now to find a replacement.

I had clunking sounds the first day I installed the front coilovers. I figured out it was the spring. It should be able to move freely while driving and mine wasnt, so I sprayed a little grease where the spring meets the top and bottom and the noise went away.

wanted to add that I have the backs at 1" and the fronts at about 1.25" to get it basically level front to back. I started at 3/16 in the front but the rake was too much. This results in almost exaclty 2" lift front and back. I have the 2.7 and modular bumper so maybe that's why i needed to increase the front to 1.25"

I'll take pics of mine when I get chance, I have the 2.3 with the normal bumper and I'm running 285/70r17 terra grapplers. I'm happy with the lift and ride, just need to get the end link issue resolved. Gonna go hunting for a replacement nut today after work.
