So I decided several months back that the correct way to do the Moab off-roadeo was to drive and then take mine out the following day šŸ˜œ. I started driving from Houston, TX at 7am today and made it to Albuquerque, NM to spend the night. Iā€™m going to but @$$ to get to Moab tomorrow, and hopefully have a little time to take some pics in Arches.
I did want say how much I love my 6ā€ @Diode Dynamics pocket fog lights. They were awesome in the snow. Hopefully the video uploads.
Link in case it doesnā€™t:
Iā€™m also playing around with the Bluetooth control for my Sony A7iii, trying to get some decent selfie. Iā€™ll update with additional pics over the next several days.

Day 1 in Moab: I left Albuquerque at 5:30am, and was able to make it to Moab by ~11. I have dozens of amazing pics, after narrowing them down from hundreds, but Iā€™ll just post a few here.
I stopped at one scenic vista along 191 on the way:

and then Wilson Arch. IMO, W.A. Would be the best arch thatā€™s the easiest to get to. I was fortunate enough to get there to catch some repellers.
Iā€™m staying at the OK RV park in a hunterā€™s cabin. The smallest I was able to get has 2 full and one twin bed. Itā€™s clean and quiet (and cheap), which is all I need. I did get yelled at for going 8mph down the drivewayā€¦
After checking in and lunch, I went to Arches park. I think I got there around 2:30. Iā€™d have liked more time to be able to take my time. I canā€™t believe I wasnā€™t originally planning on going. It was the perfect place to throw the Broncoā€™s top all the way back! The Delicate Arch was amazing, but maybe 1-hr hike. Itā€™s going to be a strenuous hike for most people who arenā€™t hikers. Definitely worth it though! Here are just a few pics, since I donā€™t want to bombard people. *If anyone is interested, I have a Sony A7iii with a Sigma 24-70 and process my pics in Lightroom.
Oh yea, I went to dinner at Moab Spitfire Smokehouse. The best smokehouse is Truth BBQ in Houston, but these guys were pretty good. I tried their tri-tip, which we donā€™t have in Texas (or at least we donā€™t call it that)ā€¦it was basically lean brisket.

Day 2 in Moab: Overall the Off-Roadeo was an amazing experience. Iā€™d love to do them all, but am glad I did Moab if I could only do one.
I appreciated that they reviewed recovery with us in the main group, and then a couple of times in our smaller group. I was in Group C with Kelly and he was fantastic. Just a very great, humble guy with a lot of experience. I picked his brain a lot throughout the day. I initially picked the CO BadSAS, but switched to a CO BL non-SAS (thatā€™s what I have). I deliberately pushed the hardest lines all day and it was great to see exactly what I could do with mine, and what might get me hung up (I didnā€™t really get hung up).

Day 3 in Moab, with Jeeper Jeff and my non-SAS Badlands 2.3 auto. Jeff and I spoke otp a couple of times before today, and as-planned, we started out with Fins n Things and then Hellā€™s Revenge. FnT was pretty fun and there was only one line that I tried and couldnā€™t do bc of my front clearance.
After lunch, we headed over to HR. *we did the full HR trail (not Hellā€™s Gate) and took the right after Dragonā€™s Tail. It was a blast but very technical and Jeff got me through safely without any body damageā€¦itā€™s not for the faint of heart though! There were definitely a few times where I was white knuckling it and holding my breath. Unless youā€™re an experienced off-roader, Iā€™d definitely recommend a guide or experienced friend to spot you. Jeff gave me a hard time about using my cameras ( I used them a lot) but I think itā€™s probably good to not fully rely on them. *I actually had the display get stuck in the front-only view, which wasnā€™t always the one I wanted, so I definitely get not wanting to 100% rely on the tech!
One other bug was coming down from the Overlook/Observation area by Hellā€™s Gate. I got to the edge to go back down and got an message to service the staybar disconnect when i went to turn them back on (itā€™s REALLY annoying that they donā€™t turn back on with the vehicle). The decent there is decently narrow and steep, and the last thing you want is a message to service your vehicle

My wife and I, along with our youngest son,I are doing Moab on Saturday. Road-tripping there as well, but donā€™t have our Bronco yet. The 4Runner will do for now. We did get the ā€œIn Productionā€ email from Ford today, for a 4/4 build, so weā€™re getting closer!

We came up from Phoenix through Flagstaff, a short hike at Horseshoe Bend, then a night in Zion National Park for some hikes and a surprise blizzard. Now in Bryce Canyon National Park, more hiking tomorrow, then on to Moab.

Nice Bronco! Iā€™ll be adding DD fog lamps to my modular bumper as well.

Awesome video example of selective yellow color output compared to white light in inclement weather conditions! šŸ’Ŗ

Also, the beauty rings did their job! Guess Iā€™ll be needing to paint them.
