well if you did off road by yourself you would have gotten in and out of your vehicle dozens of times to negotiate small obstacles cause you can't see them from behind the wheel. The reason jeeps were originally built with low fenders was the eliminate much of this problem something Ford did not think of with the original Bronco and a major reason why it could not compete with the CJ5. Jeep has kept those low fenders to this day on the Wrangler advertising the fact that they began as an off road vehicle first.
