Hey folks, just got my new ride yesterday. I am very grateful for all the insight that I have gained from members of the forum. I don't think I have blazed any new trails with my personal build, but I have put together some of the lower cost mods for a good basic build. So far, I have replaced the badges with script logos. The method I used to place them wasn't really scientific, but it was repeatable and I think it came out well.

The next job was to get rid of the chrome Bronco badge on the swing gate. I wanted to get rid of all the off colors on the exterior of the vehicle. That meant the orange and chrome badging had to go. I ordered the black badge from the Wildtrack, but it didn't match the script I planned to place on the fenders. To color match everything, I grabbed a can of satin black appliance paint from the big box store. I just outlined the existing emblem with painters tape, heated it up with my heat gun for about 45 seconds and it practically fell off in my hand.

I always hated the long radio antennas and have had bad luck with them in the car wash. I decided to replace mine with a shorty since I rarely listen to AM/FM anymore.

The final piece of the puzzle was to get rid of that 3rd brake light that just sticks out like a sore thumb. I saw a guy on the Youtubes had replaced it with an aftermarket light that hid behind the spare tire. I ordered one from Amazon that looked sturdy enough and wouldn't break the bank. I did have to drill out the lug holes for correct spacing with a step drill bit. I also used a Weatherpak connector on both ends. I did cut off the factory connector but saved it in case I need to crimp it back on one day.

Not too bad for the first day, in my honest opinion. I have more parts on order and some in the garage. Look for aux lighting, a GMRS radio, and other goodies in the near future.

Welcome. Lots of Bronco running around the Meteoplex these days and I usually spot about 5 or 6 on my afternoon commute.

I like that brake light idea.
I'd be afraid of mesmerizing people behind me though... :D

I am out here near Denton and they are still pretty rare.
