2022 Wildtrak. Installing AMP power steps. Have discovered that the Bronco’s OBD2 port is not receiving its 12V power (tested with multimeter). Any help with the following would be much appreciated:

- OBD2 fuse? (Old days used to be shared with the cig lighter). Have swapped a few likely culprits with spares, but no luck.
- If not a fuse, any other ideas?
- Will head to dealer if can’t self diagnose.

Appreciate any feedback or insight.

That's a head scratcher. @flip may be able to help out with wiring diagram.

I've blow so many fuses looking for the trigger wires on those AMP installs.

OP, I would double check all of your wiring. If something is not correct, you may have caused the fuse to blow.

I've blow so many fuses looking for the trigger wires on those AMP installs.
Best bet is to disconnect the battery and then the plug with the trigger wires. You can then move the connector to a better position to see the wires needed which are #6 and #7. Finding the wires is easy but connecting them is a PITA. Even worse with a manual and the greasy clutch pedal in the way.

Appreciate the responses and information. All the AMP step gear is installed and I've tapped the proper DDM harness wires. The step system simply won't come to life after all is plugged in. I can ground the "hot" yellow wire (this is the smart series step) to the chassis and will get the steps to drop and retract after removing the ground (at least telling me they work in general).

Therefore, started to work through troubleshooting items (in my head thinking the trigger wire taps and their proper seating on the DDM wires being the likely culprit). However, discovered the OBD2 port doesn't have power as it should. Need to get that working properly again and see if the step system will operate accordingly. Now, there was the lojack / similar tracker presumably installed by the dealership originally (which I removed - simple to do). The truck was flipped (with 90 miles on it) by the original purchaser to me. So, that lojack system could have impacted the OBD2 port, fuses, other fuses or possibly someone pulled a fuse to disable it (not having taken direct delivery maybe there's something I don't know). However, I have no warnings nor have I come across anything not functioning properly on the vehicle.

- All that said, I need a properly working OBD2 port to start with.
- If that doesn't solve it, I will focus on the trigger wire posi-taps and/or any other fuses that might have somehow been impacted along the way.

Thanks again for the thoughts and advice.

Thank you Duc and everyone. It was a blown 10A fuse (#160). All the other spares were missing. New fuse, OBD2 port came alive (12V power) and the Amp smart steps work like a charm. You guys saved the day… short people in the house happy now.
