I'm shopping for a 2dr Bronco and I found the exact model I want but it has the roof rack option. I'm certain that this rack will make it not fit in my garage which would negate the purchase. I see that all models have filler plates above the windshield for the roof rack, which is widely available from Ford and aftermarket.

Question: If I buy the one with the roof rack installed, can I remove it and will the filler plates be available (either with the vehicle or aftermarket) so I can do without the rack?

Thanks

Yes, it is removable, and the plates should be included in the vehicle.

The trim plates and the triangle-bit roof rack tool should be included with the vehicle, check the glove box before you leave the dealer to make sure they are there.

In addition to the glove box check the storage area under the floor in the back, that’s where my triangle torque wrench was.

All of my covers and the little torque wrench were in a bag in the glovebox. I removed the rack the day I brought the Bronco home.

Yes, removable - though difficult with one person. It's doable with one person if you basically take the whole thing apart in pieces. With 2 people it's extremely easy and fast, quite literally just a few minutes.

Hi, I’m looking to do this too.

The I don’t have the vehicle yet but my salesman said I’ll have to buy the covers separately.

He hasn’t been at Ford long. Is this really the case that Ford would build with a roof rack and not provide the covers for when you remove the rack and hardtop?!

Unless it was changed for '25, the only reason that would be true is if it's used and the original covers were lost. Otherwise they might just be trying to pull a fast one on you.
The roof rack option includes the painted covers and a tool to remove them all in a bag. All Broncos are built with the painted covers, then they're taken to the Mod Shop to have the roof rack put on.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forums. Nice to meet everyone. I've been trying to pin down the best way to source the paint matched caps because I want to take my factory rack off.

I bought my Bronco used and they didn't come with it. I've called local dealerships and they want to sell me the plastic pieces, PLUS they have to actually paint them (they don't sell paint matched pieces already made), so after all is said and done I'm looking at a couple hundred dollars, which I think is asinine. Has anyone had any luck sourcing these?

Thanks!

You can get paint at paintscratch.com. My rack has been off for 3 years and hangs from garage ceiling
