Passenger Roof rack cap missing

I have seen some reports on peoples roof rack cap going missing. I can’t believe ford doesn’t have these preprinted!

also, it seems like every report has been the passenger side. Please respond if that differs from what you have seen. Design flaw?

I just took my rails off a couple days ago. I had *thought* I put the cap back on correctly, but the person helping me lift the rail off saw it wasn't quite sitting like the driver's side was. Sure enough pushed on it some and it clicked a little further in.

Dunno if this has happened to other people, but yeah, definitely have to make sure it's on securely.

My passenger side is missing, however that's totally on me. I backed into a low ceiling in a parking garage, it shattered into a few pieces, so in the bin it went. Haven't looked for a replacement yet as I'm sure I don't want to see that price tag.

It looks like it is only $22 for the cap but then you have to have it painted. Why ford wouldn’t have a ton of these already painted with the standard colors is beyond me.
