Hey everyone! I’m planning a family trip to Portland, ME around mid-August and was hoping so members here could give me some of their localized knowledge to make this vacation awesome.

I was reading about McLucas Road and it sounded pretty cool. A dirt road to a mountain summit? I’m looking for some ORV trails that are relatively flat. To qualify what may seem like a weenie request - my 2 year old son will he in the back seat and I want to take it easy on his neck and head. He’s got a proper seat but I’m sure all that bumpin and grindin can’t be good for his little body.

Any insight on area trails or scenic drives that are off pavement would be appreciated!

Separately, are there any good fishing spots I should hit if it’s my first time in Portland?

Educate me.

I have been to Maine at least 10 times. Augusta is pretty much my southernmost starting point.

For me,Portland is a place on the way.

Is there anything on your list in Augusta?

Not really.I have a couple of friends that live there.(Motorcycles are our common interest.)

I like the Moosehead lake area.
Went here once.

Don't waste your time in Portland, it's basically North Massachusetts now. Keep going north!
