I know members have removed the reels also.... Because of the pre-tensioner in them, they're monitored by the truck. Because they're unplugged, I have an airbag warning light on the dash..
Forscan get rid of it?

All the posts about this that I have read people are tucking the belts behind things, not removing them.

The RCM is just looking for a certain resistance as feedback. If you were to wire in a 1.70-2.98 ohm resistor to the harness side connector the light would go away.

I know people are doing this with the buckles (because they're monitored too)... And I had to do this with putting in my load floor.
Pretty sure I seen 1 post where someone removed their reels 🤷

This probably holds true for the buckles as well?
How did you come up with those resistor values?

The buckle is just a normal 2 wire switch, so you would just need to make it seem as if it was closed. The pretensioner resistance values are out of the workshop manual.

Ahhh cool. So I can just short the buckle harness wires and be able to turf then as well. Good to know 👍🏻
Thanks for your help

So there are wires on the reel side correct?

I stuck the latch side in those pockets under the floor and the carpet covers them.

Would love to eliminate the reels too.

I did the same... Latches stuck on the floor. Im going to try a pair of those plastic wire taps to short across the conductor.
I have some 2.4Ohm (the average of the range mentioned above) resistors on the way for the reels. I'll likely just jam them in the plug sockets and heat shrinking over them.

Just tried 2.4 Ohm resistors...
When I turn on the truck, the light is on... Then goes away (self checking?) and then comes on again...
Ugh!
Sure it's 2.4 and not 2.4K?🤷

Edit: fault is reading short circuit to ground, so maybe 2.4 Ohm is too high....

Edit again: passenger side is showing both open circuit and circuit to ground 🤷
