We tackled the King of the Hill trail at Diamond Mill OHV using onX Offroad, and the view from the top was absolutely worth the climb. From there, we headed north toward the Salmonberry River, as close as the trail allowed, soaking in the desolate yet stunning scenery. Continuing west to Buck Mountain, we explored some of the most pristine parts of the Tillamook State Forest, with a breathtaking view of the Salmonberry River canyon from over 3,000 feet. On our way to the coast, we paused near High Butte, which felt oddly familiar—turns out, I’d been there in April. It was getting late, and with few dining options open, we hit the Ghost Hole Public House in Garibaldi. The food was surprisingly tasty, though the karaoke was not tasty. We wrapped up the day bombing back on Hwy 6, rolling in around 12:30 AM. Exhausting but unforgettable!
