A friend did this with his G Wagon, the plastic protector eventually started to discolor and crack from the sun, with parts of the protector peeling or permanently stuck to the screen, he had to replace the entire unit at his cost!
It did take a couple of years...
Due to the dash configuration, the sun doesn't directly hit the screen. I installed ceramic tint and also got her a reflective sun shade. It literally no different than a cheap screen protector and honestly offers very little glare. If I had my way, that would be off and I'd be running without (like I do in my F150)

UV rays travel many feet into soil, around corners and such, so I don't think the dash position will help at all!

You scientifcally have a point. It all boils down to idgaf about it cause in our situation your statement doesn't hold up. Everything done is to appeal to our wants and needs. Precautionary steps have been taken to maintain, preserve/prolong the longevity of what we have opted to go with. My response was in regards to the op. Great on you to want to assume an academic approach. But in reality what has been shared is based on preference. Go on with your bad self. I got better mana'o to spread and share here than debate what is best for you.

I installed one recently to test it out and while it did mitigate fingerprints which was nice, I wear polarized Oakley sunglasses and looking at the screen protector with the sunglasses on gave a rainbow effect all over the screen. I had to remove it.
I’m thinking about buying one but I’m more worried about how to remove the screen protector, if I ever had to. How did you remove your screen protector? Did you let it cure or did you take it off right away when you noticed you didn’t like it? TIA!

So, they are just the same as cell phone protectors, they peel right off. They are more static than they are sticky (although they are still slightly tacky). I had no issues at all in peeling it off after a few days.

whoa dude... grow up! while I do not disagree with your opinion about the need for UV protection... you are a bit over the top with the emotions... People disagree, Different people value different things... You need to grow up and treat other with some semblance of respect. Their opinion is just as valuable as yours.... which is just one of the many voices..... contribute but do it with a little respect OR go away.

I had my Macan screen covered in matte XPEL it wasn’t expensive, I love it. Self healing, doesn’t have a scratch on it and no finger prints.

Bruddah, go catch your feels elsewhere. Did you read all the posts up until my latest? I replied to the OP to offer an alternative approach. I do me. Wasn't asking that "dude" what was best for me.

Rather than replying in a respectful way you were replying as an asshole.... your opinion was fine. No problem with that. you are just being a jerk. Like a little kid on the play ground that never grew up.... Mine is an observation. do what ever you want with your "feels" little boy.

I am doing what is best for me "dude"..... I am calling as it is.

Any pics of those low profile mall crawler M/T tires on the F150?
