Service schedule and cost

My dealer is trying to sell pre-paid service plans saying the typical service is at 5000 miles or 6 months (In California). They are giving me an option to buy pre-paid service plan that cover 3 yrs / 30k miles / 10 services for about $1800.

5000 miles/6 months seems too frequent, Posting to see what others have been following. And how much does it usually costs.

Stay at 5K. $180.00 for an oil change and tire rotation seems like a lot. How many miles are you putting on a year? How long do you anticipate keeping the bronco?

I don't expect more than 10k an year

$180 per oil change and tire rotation? And maybe one cabin filter and air filter change over that time period? No thanks.

Ford recommends serving at 10k miles. I personally service mine at 5k but others vary depending on driving conditions.

Here's the big services for a 2.7. Oil at 5K, tire rotation every over or as needed.

• Perform multi-point inspection.
• Rotate the tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.

There are very few vehicles that meet the technical description of the "normal" maintenance schedule so we recommend 5K or "severe" duty. I have no idea why they say 10K is OK but from our experience it's not a good idea unless it's a diesel running highway miles.
