Last September I took a road trip out to Moab with my Bronco, Lusitania and was joined by a coworker for part of it. We both had a blast and decided to find something a little bit more local to keep up the skills we learned out there. We signed up for 2 days of skill building with Offroad Consulting and it was awesome! Our guid Kyle was fantastic and it made clear how different the guided experience at Moab and a skills course really are. Moab was a guided tour, this was learning how to drive! By the end of day 2we were snaking through an off camber mud chute with a 3 ft drop in. AOAA is a great place, I wish it was closer and the car performance was fantastic.
After my experience at Rock Run I've been real nervous about mud puddles. I learned some solid techniques to get out of the mud that might have let me dig out! We had some minor damage to the driver Ultrasonic mount which cracked, and my co-worker knocked off my passenger fender on a tree. The bash plates/rock rails certainly got a workout, and the bumpers have a few scuffs but otherwise she held up great!
If you're in the North East definitely swing by AOAA, and if you want to build your skills talk to Offroad Consulting.
