1 - 1” x 5” x 8’ board (can be smaller)
10 - 3/4” webbing strips about 3-4” long with hole in each end
10 - 3/4” female plastic buckles
10 - #10 3/4” screws
10 - #10 fender washers

I have some hanging racks in garage and one had a 8’ 1x5 in it which gave me an idea to use the buckles on the windows to make an easy storage rack
  • find the center of the 1x5
  • 1” in from one side, layout 4 spots for the rear window buckles
  • 1” from other side, layout for each rear side window (I started the first of the three buckles 8” from center to leave a little room, next buckle was 16-1/2” and third was 25-3/4
Mine hangs in between two pipes on chains, but you could easily use L brackets and put on a wall

How’s the weight? Nice Macgyver creation. Just wondering if the weight might stress the stitching that attaches the buckles.

Not an issue at all. I actually didn’t have enough webbing so the rear side windows do not have a middle buckle and yet are fine. The rear has those big plastic things on each end which cause it to bend but little no stress.

it actually works better than I thought it would. My jeep JL softop was much easier to use (to be fair) and I used plastic spring clamps from Harborfreight to clamp on. Didn’t work remotely as well.

Do you know what brand of 3/4" female plastic buckles you used? I attempted something similar myself only to find the 1" was too big (it's the strap size not the buckle size), and I just purchased 3/4" buckles from amazon only to find they're too small (the bronco buckles are thicker). Thanks in advance!

I hear you. I had some trial and error too.

They were from Michael’s craft store in the paracord jewelry section. It has a whistle on the buckle (not the side you need this)

What you've done *is* nice, and certainly works. I highly recommend some of the soft top storage backs that are sold around here. I bought the one from Mabett. They offer protection and onboard storage, Really nice.

Could you post a link to those buckles? I cannot find them on Michaels? Thanks!
