Went out to Hidden Falls Adventure Park early on Sunday, November 5th. This was a solo visit, although some very nice young ladies asked if I wanted to go out with them and their SxS's.
Never having been out there, I got there 10 minutes early and there was already a line. In front of me in line was a very nice red Jeep on 37" MT Baja Bosses. As I got out to air down, out of the driver side jumps an 8-10yr old. More on him later.
The layout at Hidden Falls is a little weird. You go in a gate, then over to a covered window area where you buy a day pass. Then you drive up to the park (there's an outdoor shooting club next door I heard is reasonably priced) about two miles. At that point, there's camping and a general store. The lady at the window said speak to the guy in the general store, he could give me directions.
The first photo is the guy from the General Store giving directions, maybe Paul or Phil? He was very nice and gave me a whole itinerary based on my Bronco. Not too easy but not so hard I'd need a spotter.
I get in the park and at first it's pretty desolate; it was early. My impressions overall is that it's like Bridgeport's Northwest OHV Park, only better run and maybe a little bigger/taller? There's probably more elevation change at Hidden Falls. However, I generally found the limestone trails to be pretty close to what you see at Northwest ORV.
Anyhow, I took the run down to North Pole, then ran down the fence line and turned up to Wildcat Mountain. Up there is where I got video of the kid making the approach on something I'd gone around (going down, he was going up). That's the video, that kid (from far away) going up a decent grade and over a shelf. Also came across a guy with a very nice SxS that had thrown a suspension up through his hood.
Overall, enjoyed myself and will be going back, as long as it's not wet. Maybe next time stay long enough to go shooting next door.
