Spare tire Christmas light setup tips?

This is a cheap 36" wreath from walmart with 2 strands of led lights. Zipped tied through the holes in the wheel. To get the wire through the back window/tailgate, i made a wire out of SPT-2 wire (very thin flat wire) and the tailgate and window close without any blockage from the wire. It looks too small to me, so I may buy a 48" one off of Ebay.

I’m probably gonna run some lights this year. I bought a 12v strand and was planning on running through the grommet or through the tailgate vent. I see most folks just going between the window and tailgate but has anyone gushed through the tailgate vent or used the 3rd brake light grommet?

Very much like my Heritage , but I went red and white lights

Great ideas and love the looks. I dressed mine up with different colored tinsel, ornaments, and battery powered lights. These lights are just white LEDs so not to get the attention of the law. I did install the spare tire brake light and that’s actually helped since the tinsel covers up part of the regular brake light. I’ll grab another pic when it gets darker.
