Started in Cascade Locks, Oregon at the Bridge of the Gods. Drove across the bridge and east on Highway 14 in Washington to the unmarked Spirit Falls trailhead on Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery land. Hiked a tough 1-mile round-trip trail, descending 500 feet over rocky terrain, to view the 33-foot Spirit Falls, a Class V kayaking rapid. Watched kayakers tackle the falls. Climbed back, then explored Gifford Pinchot National Forest via Oklahoma Road, passing Goat Point and Grassy Knoll. Ended the day at Backwoods Brewing in Carson.
