Don't knock caribeeners I pulled a car out of the snow the other day and the only recovery point that was accessible was a small loop that you couldn't fit Anthing but a caribeener through.

Now would I do it for every recovery? No. But in a pinch it worked. It should also be noted that it was a ligit industrial steel caribeener that had a significant load rating, not an Amazon special caribeener.

Ya I get having to use something like that in a pinch (knowing the risks). It is an entirely different story to drive around with them mounted to your tow points. Someone may think they kinda look cool there but to anyone who has ever off-roaded it just show you don't have any idea what you're doing.

Caribeeners are meant to hold people, not meant for recovery. It's actually very very dangerous to use a caribeener for recovery because when one fails it is very likely to fly off at a very high speed...
