agreed that in high mileage cars, my experience has been the engine runs fine, but the work and cost needed on suspension, bad clutch or transmission, electronics, body work weren’t worth it. Most of the cars I’ve scrapped or donated, still ran, but we’re junk for other reasons lol

I'm not concerned about the engines, I'll be getting the 2.7 just because really, haven't bought a new car in 17 years, so I'm splurging. My current Taco has been somewhat regularly maintained and the only thing I ever had to do was replace some tiny S shaped rubber hose on top to pass smog. 140k miles on it.
What I'm more concerned about is all the computer stuff, will Ford still support what ever is in the Bronco 17 years from now? I know of no 17 year old computer that still works, let alone has support. Maybe there will be a replacement unit still available?
I still see the occasional model T drive around, I doubt that will be happening with any modern car 100 years from now. I just hope they don't have the same planned obsolescence as phones and laptops.
Engines have come a long way, I don't see them as the fail part. But will there be a replacement touch screen if you happen to hit it with a hammer 10 years from now?
