Tailgate TV draining battery?

I bought a small 24 inch smart tv for tailgating. Using a power adapter in cargo outlet. Working for about 20 minutes and I get a low battery alert? The voltage on the dials was 12.2. Do I need to do something different? Didn’t think a small tv would cause this. Ty

any draw on the battery without the alternator energized will deplete the voltage - how much and how fast will depend upon the item(s) amperage consumption. In your case, it’s not just the TV - the inverter is working to turn DC into AC. BTW - that 12V convenience outlet in the cargo area will automatically turn off within an hour if the ignition is not switched on.

I went ahead and just bought a power station last night so all good. Thanks I didn’t know the port turns off like that!
