Starting my research. I don't think I am ready for a full upgrade like the Willwoods and there are only a few options out there. Whether I spring for slotted rotors is up in the air, I might wait on changing the disks closer to 50k as my current ones are perfectly fine. Currently at 25k miles, but given I run bunch off road, both OEM front/rears are wearing even and have about 1/8th left.

Options soo far as I can discount them both but are both in the same price range:
EBC Yellows - operating temperature range up to 932°F
Hawk LTS - operating temperature range up to 700°F

I've been loving the PowerStop z36 brake upgrades. I pull a camp trailer (it has its own brakes as well, but I try not to cook them) and they've been really solid through the Utah mountains. For off-road, they feel as good on the last obstacle as they did on the first.

They also sell just the pads, if you're looking to keep your rotors for a while.

Problem is PowerStop is no more or I would add those to the list.

I usually recommend Raybestos as a good OEM spec brand, but their parent company went belly up and dragged Raybestos down with them.

When I get ready for my next brake job, I will look at the NAPA Proformer line for the brake parts I need.

You might be thinking StopTech, but PowerStop should still be doing good.

Slotted brakes are not useful in general, as the braking system is a kinetic to heat friction system, thus removing bulk from your iron rotors is not a good idea. Slotted rotors will have edges that scrub harder on the pads and reduce their lifetime. Drilled rotors will have stresses from being drilled. Any mod's to reduce the mass of the rotor will reduce the brake system lifetime. So the brake companies are eager to sell those products. Buy the standard rotors from Napa.

Where did you buy the brake parts from? I see them on amazon, but it all looks like third party sellers.
Rotors from Rock Auto
Pads from Buybrakes.com

Disagree. Slots address 4 weaknesses with traditional rotors; pad glazing, off-gassing and hydroplaning, debris management (primarily when off road).

Ard these important for an average daily driver, no. Do they matter when pushing brakes, absolutely.

The lost mass from slots isnt significant.

Yes, but marginally. You've got to pay to play to have the other advantages listed above.

True.
